Oscar Francis

Oscar Francis is a London-based design studio established by Sarah Evans, an architect turned artist who creates prints and textiles inspired by modernist architecture. The existing Shopify store needed a redesign that would better reflect the modernist aesthetic of the work while improving the shopping experience.

Design — Modernist approach using a simple black and white colour palette with Helvetica typography – the most representative typeface of the modernist period. Orange call-to-action buttons with black letters and yellow hover effects draw inspiration from modernist graphic design, creating visual interest while staying true to the aesthetic.

Development — Custom Shopify theme built with Liquid templating language and CSS. The scope covered all core e-commerce templates including homepage, collections, product pages, and cart – ensuring a cohesive experience throughout the customer journey.

Results — A refined e-commerce platform that properly represents Oscar Francis's modernist-inspired work. The clean design lets the architectural prints and textiles stand out while the intuitive shopping experience makes it easy for customers to browse and buy.
