Totem Kids

Totem Kids is a Hackney-based fashion label offering eco-friendly, unisex clothes for children. Founded by Kate Bonhôte, a Central St Martins graduate and former stylist, Totem needed a website that would showcase their collections while making it easy for customers to browse and buy online.

Design — Clean, playful approach featuring illustrations by Hackney-based illustrator Ruby Taylor, who also collaborated on Totem's SS18 Spaghetti Western Desert Landscape collection. The design lets the clothes and illustrations work together, creating a cohesive brand experience that feels creative without being overwhelming.

Development — Built with Perch CMS for easy content management and a custom Big Cartel theme for the online shop. This combination gave Totem the flexibility to update their site and manage their products without technical knowledge, while keeping everything running smoothly for customers browsing and buying.

Results — A professional e-commerce platform that helped establish Totem Kids as a serious sustainable fashion brand. The site received an Honourable Mention from Awwwards and recognition from CSSFox, demonstrating both strong design and solid technical execution.
